In loving memory of Charlie
Gone from my arms.
Never from my love.
Nancy’s eldest son. Her little boy. Always.

Charlie was Nancy’s eldest son, and from the very first moment he came into this world, he became a part of my heart.
I still remember holding him in my hands just a few minutes after he was born. In that moment, I felt a bond with him that I can never explain in words.

My baby. My little boy.
A whole personality.
A whole place in my heart.
He was such a beautiful soul—smart, naughty, playful, mischievous, and always seeking attention. He loved being around me, and I loved him more than I could ever put into words.
Charlie and I shared a bond that felt just like that of a mother and her son. Our love was pure and unconditional. He wasn’t just a dog to me; he was my baby, my little boy, and a very special part of my life.
The little moments that stay
Playful. Mischievous.
Entirely Charlie.

The hardest part of loving him
We never gave up on him.
When Charlie was around three months old, we were preparing to get him vaccinated when he was diagnosed with parvo. We were told the infection had affected his heart, and his chances of survival were very low. But Charlie fought with everything he had—and he survived.
To me, it felt as if God had given him a second chance: a little more time with us, so that we could love him a little more and create a few more memories together.
When he was five months old, on the day we had planned for his vaccination, Charlie was diagnosed with canine distemper.
We tried everything within our ability to save him, but his condition kept getting worse. First, he became paralysed. Then he started having seizures. Eventually, he couldn’t even move his head properly. He was in so much pain.
The hardest part was feeling that Charlie still wanted to live. He wanted to run, play, be loved and spend time with us—but his little body was no longer allowing him to do those things.
We kept hoping, praying and trying until there was almost no hope left. In the end, we had to make the most painful decision of our lives and have him euthanised. Not because we wanted to let him go, but because we couldn’t bear to watch him suffer anymore.
That moment broke something inside me. Losing Charlie was one of the most heartbreaking experiences of my life. I still cannot describe the pain of saying goodbye to someone I loved so deeply.
I miss him every single day.
A love that stays
Five months here.
Always in my heart.
Charlie will always hold a very special place in my heart. I loved him with everything I had. But sometimes I feel that he loved me even more than I could ever love him. Even in his weakest moments, he fought to stay with us.
“Maybe Charlie’s life was short, but the love he gave us was endless.”
He was here for only five months, but he left behind a lifetime of memories, love, and a place in my heart that no one can ever take.

From Arpita, with endless love
My little Charlie,
I hope wherever you are, you are running freely again, without pain, without seizures, without weakness—just happy, playful, and loved.
You were my little boy, and you always will be.
I miss you every day, Charlie.
I love you. Forever.
