A safe, cosy space requires clear boundaries
Kindness is the culture. Safety is the structure.
These rules apply to listings, profiles, requests and conversations during Ghar's closed beta.
The animal comes first
Describe their health, behaviour and circumstances honestly. Never hide information that could affect their welfare or a safe match.
Adoption is not a sale
Ghar is for finding permanent homes for community and companion animals. Selling, breeding, trafficking and commercial marketplace listings are not permitted.
Consent before contact
Do not pressure people to reveal phone numbers, addresses or social profiles. Respect a declined request, a closed conversation and a request to stop communicating.
Care without prejudice
Hate speech, harassment, threats, humiliation and cruelty toward people or animals have no place in Ghar.
No performative urgency
Use urgent labels only when the animal genuinely faces a time-sensitive welfare or housing risk. Never manipulate people with false deadlines.
The caregiver decides
Ghar can provide context and safer communication, but the caregiver must use their judgement and conversations to choose a prospective home.
Meet safely
Use public or trusted locations, involve another person when appropriate, and follow qualified veterinary advice before transferring an animal.
Speak up early
Report suspicious listings, unsafe behaviour, impersonation or cruelty. Blocking someone immediately stops direct interaction while a report can be reviewed.
